Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has disclosed that construction works on the proposed third Lagos rail mass transit line, also known as Green Line, will start next year. “Wanted” posters with the names and faces of health care executives have been popping up on the streets of New York. Hit lists with images of bullets are circulating online with warnings that industry leaders should be afraid. Related video above: In an interview with CNN, security services firm talks efforts to protect CEOs The apparent targeted killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson and the menacing threats that followed have sent a shudder through corporate America and the health care industry in particular, leading to increased security for executives and some workers. In the week since the brazen shooting, health insurers have removed information about their top executives from company websites, canceled in-person meetings with shareholders and advised all employees to work from home temporarily. An internal New York Police Department bulletin warned this week that the online vitriol that followed the shooting could signal an immediate “elevated threat.” Police fear that the Dec. 4 shooting could "inspire a variety of extremists and grievance-driven malicious actors to violence," according to the bulletin, which was obtained by The Associated Press. “Wanted” posters pasted to parking meters and construction site fences in Manhattan included photos of health care executives and the words “Deny, defend, depose” — similar to a phrase scrawled on bullets found near Thompson’s body and echoing those used by insurance industry critics. Thompson's wife, Paulette, told NBC News last week that he told her some people had been threatening him and suggested the threats may have involved issues with insurance coverage. Investigators believe the shooting suspect, Luigi Mangione , may have been motivated by hostility toward health insurers. They are studying his writings about a previous back injury, and his disdain for corporate America and the U.S. health care system. Mangione’s lawyer has cautioned against prejudging the case. Mangione, 26, has remained jailed in Pennsylvania, where he was arrested Monday. Manhattan prosecutors are working to bring him to New York to face a murder charge. UnitedHealthcare’s parent company, UnitedHealth Group, said this week it was working with law enforcement to ensure a safe work environment and to reinforce security guidelines and building access policies, a spokesperson said. The company has taken down photos, names and biographies for its top executives from its websites, a spokesperson said. Other organizations, including CVS, the parent company for insurance giant Aetna, have taken similar actions. Government health insurance provider Centene Corp. has announced that its investor day will be held online, rather than in-person as originally planned. Medica, a Minnesota-based nonprofit health care firm, said last week it was temporarily closing its six offices for security reasons and would have its employees work from home. Heightened security measures likely will make health care companies and their leaders more inaccessible to their policyholders, said former Cigna executive Wendell Potter. “And understandably so, with this act of violence. There’s no assurance that this won’t happen again,” said Potter, who’s now an advocate for health care reform. Private security firms and consultants have been in high demand, fielding calls almost immediately after the shooting from companies across a range of industries, including manufacturing and finance. Companies have long faced security risks and grappled with how far to take precautions for high-profile executives. But these recent threats sparked by Thompson's killing should not be ignored, said Dave Komendat, a former security chief for Boeing who now heads his own risk-management company. “The tone and tenor is different. The social reaction to this tragedy is different. And so I think that people need to take this seriously,” Komendat said. Just over a quarter of the companies in the Fortune 500 reported spending money to protect their CEOs and top executives. Of those, the median payment for personal security doubled over the last three years to just under $100,000. WHITE SALMON — A more experienced Columbia High girls basketball team is hoping to have more success this year in the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) Class 1A Trico League. The Bruins, guided by third-year Coach Justin Frazier, started practice Nov. 18 in preparation for a 20-game 2024-2025 schedule. The Bruins play their season opener Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. at Goldendale. “The team has definitely grown quite a bit from last year in terms of their maturity level, so we’ll see how much that helps our team improve this year,” said Frazier. “It’s nice to have everyone coming back this year after getting a year of experience last season.” The young Bruins, with one senior (Sheyenne Antis), have their entire team returning from last season, when they (three freshmen) won six games. “We’re really looking forward to seeing Sheyenne helping provide leadership for the team along with a good strong core of juniors including center Sara Miller, Halle Kock, and Joella Posini, who will be starters for us again this year,” Frazier said. “They have a year underneath their belt, and they all worked pretty hard during the summer to become better players. The summer league schedule and the summer camp that they participated in really helped the girls a lot.” Frazier said the players improved physically, becoming stronger and more mature. “Our sophomores Taniah Barajas, Madison Russum, and Kierra Bucher will also be expected to provide valuable contributions, too, with their scoring and rebounding ability,” said Frazier. “Freshman Mckena Carlock is going to be our starting point guard and she’ll be a great addition to the team this year. She’s young but she played outstanding during the summer league and she’s been very impressive at practice.” The Bruins, who play their first home game Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. versus Hockinson, begin a 15-game Trico schedule Dec. 18 at home versus King’s Way Christian. The Knights are traditionally a strong team in the eight-team Trico. “Having another year of experience really helped to elevate talent level for the girls and they’ve all been competing really hard in practice,” said Frazier. “They’re putting in the time to help them improve and they also have a very positive attitude, which is going to help our team tremendously.”

Thanks to the playoff, Day has a chance to redeem himself with Ohio State's huge fanbase with a win against the Volunteers — and perhaps more in the 12-team tournament. Regardless of what happens, Day will be back next year, according to Bjork. "Coach Day and I just hit it off so well," Bjork said. "I've been really, really impressed. Every single time I talked to him, I learn something. He's innovative. He recruits at the highest level. He's got a great staff." Day wouldn't directly address his job status last weekend. "When you first come off those types of things, there's a lot of emotion," he said, referring to the Michigan loss. "And then as time goes on, you've got to get refocused because you know what you've done in the past does not affect what's going on moving forward. Everything is out in front of us." Failing to consistently beat Michigan is one of the few flaws in Day's coaching record. Hired as a member of coach Urban Meyer's staff in 2017, Day was the hand-picked successor when Meyer retired after the 2018 season. Compiling an overall 66-10 record, he is widely admired in the coaching community. "Great respect for what he's done in his coaching career, what he's done there at Ohio State and the success that they've had year-in and year-out," Tennessee coach Josh Heupel said. Day is in trouble now because losing The Game is considered an unforgiveable sin by Buckeyes fans. "What we have to do is this whole 'championship or bust' mentality, you want that as the goal, but it has to be about the process," Bjork said. "To me, we've got to maybe change some conversations a little bit. I think we need to maybe just approach things a little bit differently."
