The iPhone maker plans to introduce a new Apple TV and HomePod Mini that are "scheduled for next year," Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports . The initiative coincides with Apple's push to switch from Broadcom’s combined Bluetooth and Wi-Fi chips to its in-house solution, code-named Proxima. The latter is set to arrive "later next year." However, the exact timeline remains a big question mark for now. Whenever it comes, it should allow Apple's upcoming smart home devices to work better together. "With a homegrown wireless chip in Apple’s smart home devices, the products will work more closely together and potentially synchronize data more quickly," Gurman said. According to Bloomberg, Proxima's rollout will begin with updates to Apple’s home devices. Apple is expected to incorporate the technology in its upcoming iPhones later that same year, while Mac integration should follow sometime in 2026. Given Apple's usual September window for releasing new iPhones, it's a safe bet we'll see the revamped Apple TV and HomePod Mini in the year's first half. However, we have heard that Apple may have delayed a new HomePod launch until the third quarter of 2025. Apple's HomePod line has struggled to succeed in recent years. Still, reports suggest the revamped models could take a page from competitors like the Amazon Echo Show 15 or Google Nest Hub , which are designed less as music-listening speakers and more as controllers for all your smart home devices. This transition's timing also aligns with Apple’s broader smart home strategy for 2025, which reportedly includes plans for an AI-powered home hub device with hardware capable of taking advantage of Apple Intelligence. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has teased several Apple smart home projects in the past few months, including a wall-mounted iPad-like display and a $1,000 version with a robotic arm . According to Gurman, at least one of these devices is set to be announced in March 2025. A HomePod with a six to seven-inch OLED display could also be in the works. There are two types of awards in the program: volunteer service awards and citizen achievement awards. As its name implies, volunteer service awards recognize Caledon residents who have made an amazing positive impact on their community through volunteerism. Citizen achievement awards recognize residents who have competed or have been recognized at the provincial, national, or international levels in sports, arts and culture. The citizen achievement award category includes the Town’s Distinguished Citizen and Community Champion awards. The winners of this year’s Civic Awards will be determined by Caledon’s Community Recognition Task Force. The Task Force consists of five volunteers, all with experience supporting the Caledon community. The Task Force will review all nominations and make recommendations on award winners to Caledon Council for approval. Residents may nominate someone for an award at the following link: . The NFL issued a security alert to teams and the players' union on Thursday following recent burglaries involving the homes of stars and . In a memo obtained by The Associated Press and multiple other media outlets, the league says homes of professional athletes across multiple sports have become "increasingly targeted for burglaries by organized and skilled groups." The NFL and other professional sports leagues received a briefing from the FBI last Friday, a source told ABC News. Law enforcement officials noted these groups target the homes on days the athletes have games. Players were told to take precautions and implement home security measures to reduce the risk of being targeted. Some of the burglary groups have conducted extensive surveillance on targets, including attempted home deliveries and posing as grounds maintenance or joggers in the neighborhood. Burglars have entered through side doors, via balconies or through second-floor windows. They've targeted homes in secluded areas and focused on master bedrooms and closet areas. Players were warned to avoid updating any social media with check-ins or daily activities until the end of the day. Posting expensive items on social media is discouraged. The homes of Mahomes and Kelce were broken into within days of each other last month, law enforcement reports show. The break-ins happened just before and the day of Kansas City's 26-13 home victory over the on Oct. 7, where Kelce's superstar girlfriend Taylor Swift watched from the stands.
