Investors that have a high tolerance for risk might want to consider the ASX shares in this article. That's because they have just been named as buys with major upside potential. Here's what analysts are saying about them: ( ) The first small cap ASX share that is being tipped as a buy is Ai-Media Technologies. It is a technology company that allows many of the world's leading brands to caption their TV broadcasts, live streams, events, virtual meetings and more. It notes that its technology delivers over 7 million minutes of captioning, transcription, and translation for live and recorded media content, online events, and web streams every month. Morgans rates the company as a buy. Last week, its analysts said: Technology led captioning is the bulk of AIM's gross profit today and should exceed 90% within the next 12 months. Management has highlighted it will now aggressively pursue growth, targeting $60m of EBITDA by FY29, with the requirement of upfront investment in sales and product development. We see substantial share price upside if management achieve its target. We estimate that $60m of EBITDA in FY29 is worth $2.91 in FY29 or $1.44 today. This equates to a ~40% IRR, leaving substantial margin for error. The reward is, in our view, well worth the risk. Morgans has an add rating and $1.00 price target on its shares. This suggests that its shares could rise 27% from current levels. ( ) Another small cap ASX share that is highly rated is Paradigm Biopharmaceuticals. It is a biotechnology company focused on repurposing Pentosan Polysulfate Sodium (PPS) for the treatment of Osteoarthritis (OA) in the knee. If approved the drug will have the brand name Zilosul. Bell Potter notes that the "global market for a safe, effective treatment that provides superior patient outcomes compared to the standard of care is a multiple blockbuster." It adds: In the US along the incidence of moderate to severe osteoarthritis is estimated at 30m persons. The pricing of the drug will ultimately be determined by the economic benefit associated with its use as well as the cost of other therapies. The conservative estimate is US$2,500 per year which places the addressable market in the tens of billions of US$. In light of this, the broker is highly encouraged by recent trial data and the prospect of phase 3 studies starting next year. As a result, Bell Potter put a speculative buy rating and 80 cents price target on its shares last week. This implies potential upside of 38% for investors over the next 12 months.

St. Thomas pulled away with a 10-0 run in the second half to extend a 20-point lead to 30 points. They were outscored by Bowling Green in the second half by a one-point margin, but still wound up on top, as Barnstable led the way with a team-high 14 second-half points. St. Thomas' next game is Sunday against UC Riverside on the road, and Bowling Green hosts Aquinas (MI) on Monday. It’s Sunday once more, and you know what that means — it’s time for our weekly social media roundup! This week, Major League Baseball brought the 2024 season to an unofficial close by announcing this year’s award winners, which included a pair of Yankees : Aaron Judge won his second career AL MVP, while pitcher Luis Gil beat out teammate Austin Wells to take home Rookie of the Year honors. How did the AL champions celebrate these personal accomplishments? Let’s get started! King of the Gil As noted in our introduction, Luis Gil earned this year’s American League Rookie of the Year Award. The Captain — the most recent Yankee to win ROTY honors — immediately took to Instagram to congratulate his teammate. After the announcement, the right-hander spent the next 24 hours basically sharing every single congratulatory tweet/Instagram post sent his way. Here are just a couple: The Judge reigns over the American League A couple of days later, Judge himself received some new hardware, as he was named the 2024 AL MVP. While he was rather characteristically quiet about the award on his own account — choosing instead to thank “ my teammates, my family and the fans ,” — his teammates, past and present, two-legged and four-pawed, took to their accounts to celebrate his accomplishment. A post shared by New York Yankees (@yankees) Congratulations to my fren Aaron Judge on winning the American League MVP Award. We both started together on Opening Night in April 2015 with @TrentonThunder . I didn't retrieve my first bat, but he hit a walk-off home run to win the game. #ThrowbackThursday pic.twitter.com/UheRMQZchU The Martian Card Earlier this week, the Pittsburgh Pirates made waves by putting together an insane offer for anyone who can bring them a 1/1 Paul Skenes rookie card for display at their stadium. In response, the Hudson Valley Renegades made this offer for a Martian rookie card: If anyone pulls this card and gives it to the Renegades we can offer you two (2) General Admission tickets to any April or May home game in the 2025 season, a firm handshake, and admin's personal copy of Shrek 2 on DVD. https://t.co/p0W557c3rv Yanks take on UFC Last weekend, Austin Wells, Clarke Schmidt, and Anthony Volpe attended the big UFC fight. LOS ANGELES (AP) — LeBron James says he’s taking a break from social media. The NBA’s all-time leading scorer and Los Angeles Lakers star posted on X, the platform formerly called Twitter, and Instagram on Wednesday to announce that he’s stepping away from his pages. James has 159 million followers on Instagram, 52.9 million on X. James started the farewell by reposting something that Rich Kleiman, Kevin Durant’s longtime manager, posted to X on Oct. 24. “We can all acknowledge that sports is the last part of society that universally brings people together. So why can’t the coverage do the same?” Kleiman wrote that day. “It’s only click bait when you say it. When the platform is so big, you can make the change and allow us all an escape from real life negativity. I for one find it all a waste of breath.” James, on Instagram, posted a screengrab of Kleiman’s post and added the caption, “Damn shame what it’s come to.” On X, his repost of Kleiman simply said, “AMEN!!” Kleiman has posted only a handful of times since his Oct. 24 post, and evidently, James isn’t planning to post much — or anything — until further notice. Getting off social media for the time being. Y’all take care,” James posted, followed by emojis of a hand holding up two fingers — often symbolizing someone leaving a place — and a crown, a nod to his “King James” moniker. James, the NBA’s oldest active player — he turns 40 next month — is a four-time NBA champion and a three-time Olympic gold medalist, the most recent of those coming earlier this year at the Paris Games. The Lakers are 10-4, winners of six straight and next play Thursday at home against Orlando.
Romanians started voting on Sunday in the first round of a presidential election that may give hard-right politician George Simion a chance of winning, with voters focused on high living costs and the country’s support for Ukraine. Opinion surveys show leftist Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, 56, leader of Romania’s largest party, the Social Democrats, will make it into the run-off vote on Dec 8, with Simion, 38, of the Alliance for Uniting Romanians the likely runner-up. About 3.7 million Romanians, or 20.7% of registered voters in the European Union and NATO state, had cast their ballots across the country by 1045 GMT, data showed. Voting ends at 1900 GMT with exit polls to follow immediately. Voting by Romanians abroad, who can influence the result and where the hard right leader is popular, began on Friday. Analysts expect Ciolacu to win the second round against Simion, appealing to moderates and touting his experience running Romania during a war next door. But the prospect of a Ciolacu-Simion run-off vote could mobilise centre-right voters in favour of Elena Lasconi, leader of opposition Save Romania Union, ranked third in opinion surveys, analysts said. Simion has cast the election as a choice between an entrenched political class beholden to foreign interests in Brussels and himself, an outsider who will defend Romania’s economy and sovereignty. He opposes military aid to Ukraine and supports a peace plan as envisioned by US President-elect Donald Trump, whom he admires, and would support a government that emulates that of Italy’s Giorgia Meloni. “We want peace, the war must end so we stop being afraid,” 76-year-old Valentin Ion said after voting in Bucharest. “Politicians must be more understanding and give money to the needy.” Romania has the EU’s largest share of people at risk of poverty. Ciolacu’s coalition government of his Social Democrats (PSD) and centre-right Liberals has raised the minimum wage and increased pensions twice this year, but high budget spending has swollen deficits and kept inflation high. “I am taking my parents and my children to go vote for PSD, it is the best party, Marcel Ciolacu gave us so much,” said Vasile Popa, 46. Since Russia attacked Ukraine in 2022, Romania has enabled the export of millions of tons of grain through its Black Sea port of Constanta and provided military aid, including the donation of a Patriot air defence battery. “The outcome is still very difficult to predict due to the high concentration of candidates and the splitting of the centre-right vote,” said Sergiu Miscoiu, a political science professor at Babes-Bolyai University. Most candidates, he said, have campaigned on conservative messages such as protecting family values. “Mainstream party candidates have a very catch-all message, on the one hand the nation, the army, religion and so on. On the other hand, we see a commitment to Europe, although it is seen more as a revenue source than an inspiration for values.” Outgoing two-term president Klaus Iohannis, 65, had cemented Romania’s strong pro-Western stance but was accused of not doing enough to fight corruption. Romania’s president, limited to two five-year terms, has a semi-executive role which includes heading the armed forces.Man Utd 2 Notts Forest 3: Ruben Amorim gets brutal reality check as visitors expose defensive woes to end 30yr hoodoo
