Duke of York ‘ceased all contact’ with spy-accused man after concerns raisedGEORGETOWN, Guyana, (CMC) – The Prime Minister of Cooperative Republic of India, Shri Narendra Modi has been bestowed with the Order of Excellence, by President Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali. Established in 1970 under the Constitution of the Orders of Guyana, the national award is limited to 25 living citizens of Guyana. The honorary ceremony, held earlier this following a cultural display, demonstrated the Government of Guyana’s recognition of Modi’s exceptional leadership in advancing the interests of developing nations on the global stage. “The greatest test of any member of the human family, is to give of their very little when they are most in need. And Prime Minister Modi has fulfilled this test with distinction during the COVID-19 pandemic, when they gifted this region 500,000 vaccines, when India itself was rallying to meet their own needs,” Ali asserted, after bestowing the award. He added that India’s kind gesture protected thousands of Guyanese against the dreaded coronavirus, as Guyana received 80,000 COVID-19 vaccines. Understanding that technology, innovation, and digitisation must not be used to widen the gap among countries, Ali highlighted India’s commitment to championing these solutions for developing nations. Additionally, over the years, Guyana has benefited from strong support, particularly in the areas of training, scholarships, military exchange programmes, concessional loans, and cultural exchanges with India. “In every sphere of national development, we can point to physical, institutional, and systemic support from the government and people of India. And we salute you, Prime Minister Modi, and the people of India,” he stated, adding, “Continue to lead, continue to be bold, continue to demonstrate the type of spine that is required in this very complex global environment.” President Ali said Prime Minister Modi is, and will always be a member of the CARICOM family. After receiving the award, Modi expressed heartfelt gratitude to Ali and his government for the honourable recognition. According to the Indian leader, President Ali has personally contributed to elevating the two nations’ current partnership to greater heights. “Under his leadership, we are continuously moving forward in every direction. Even in today’s discussions, I felt his affection and respect for the people of India,” he said, noting the similarities between India and Guyana, which further deepen historical and cultural relations. The Indian prime minister also reaffirmed his commitment to further advancing cooperation and partnership. Modi was invited to a vibrant display where Guyana’s diverse and unique cultural fabric was showcased. The prime minister is currently on a three-day state visit to Guyana, marking a significant milestone for both countries. The standard Lorem Ipsum passage, used since the 1500s "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. The stakes are high in college football, especially with rivalry week on the horizon. ESPN's Heather Dinich named one head coach who can not afford to lose on Saturday. There is plenty to be excited about in Week 14. Rivalry games like the "Iron Bowl," "Egg Bowl," and "The Game" are taking place. Games like the South Carolina Gamecocks vs. Clemson Tigers, Georgia Bulldogs vs. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, and Arizona State Sun Devils vs. Arizona Wildcats are also happening. While "The Game" is an iconic rivalry in the Big Ten, which typically significantly impacts the conference championship every season, it has been one-sided. The Ohio State Buckeyes come into Saturday on a three-game losing streak to the Michigan Wolverines. Heather Dinich appeared on Tuesday's edition of "The Pat McAfee Show" to discuss the upcoming rivalry game. Dinich emphasized that Ohio State head coach Ryan Day "can't lose" after dropping the last three games with Michigan. © Kyle Robertson/Columbus Dispatch / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images “I’ve talked to him multiple times about the pressure that comes with this game, but he’s right," Dinich said. PUEBLO, Colo. — The small town of Wray, Colorado, has been waiting for a big party for more than three decades. It's time. Wray is bringing home its first football state championship in 31 years after defeating Forge Christian 48-21 in the Class 1A title game Saturday afternoon at Dutch Clark Stadium. The Eagles' undefeated season (13-0 overall) was capped off with the school's first state title since 1993. "It's awesome. You'll never find support like Wray," senior quarterback Casey Midcap said. "I love that we could end this thing with a state championship." Wray was powered a trio of touchdown runs from senior Sam Meisner, including busting free for long scores of 75-plus yards twice. "My mindset was to leave it all on the field, and I would say I did a good job doing that," he said. "Half the town of Wray is here. It just shows how special our community is." >>Watch the extended video above and see the highlights on the 9NEWS Prep Rally this weekend! Rudy Giuliani in a courtroom outburst accuses judge in assets case of being unfair, drawing a rebukeHow badly does want to win? That’s the question. If he really cared about a World Series ring, Judge, , would sell his fancy new trophy on eBay and give the proceeds to Yankees general manager Brian Cashman so the club can sign another bullpen arm for 2025. That’s what a real captain would do. Derek Jeter, the perfect example of Yankees leadership, had the perspective and wherewithal to never play well enough to warrant winning such a selfish award. Look, I’m not saying that Judge should play worse during the regular season next year; that’s preposterous. But if he melted the AL MVP trophy down and had it remade into a sculpture of the 2024 Dodgers celebrating their world championship and then put that sculpture on his bedside table so he could wake up every morning properly motivated, it wouldn’t be the most inappropriate thing. It’s tradition for MVP winners to accept their awards at the annual BBWAA New York Chapter dinner in January. And while I’m sure fans would love to see Judge there, he should honestly be spending that time in the gym or the batting cage for the 2025 season. A night in a tuxedo with boring writers like me isn’t working toward the ultimate goal of a Yankees parade. As they say, if you aren’t getting better, you’re getting worse. , is a different story, his own overlooked postseason struggles aside. Sure, the Dodger dynamo’s October OPS was only 15 points higher than Judge’s, but With Judge, that’s clearly not the case. And don’t forget: The last time Judge won this award, back in 2022, the Yankees were a train wreck the following season, missing out on the playoffs. Does the Yankees captain really want to tempt fate again? Might be best to let , who finished second in AL MVP voting, take the award. People speak volumes about Judge’s steadiness and consistency during the marathon of a 162-game season. That’s pretty cool, I guess, but I’d rather have a totally erratic teammate who wakes up hungover on Oct. 1 and clobbers 15 playoff bombs. Not somebody like Judge, who finished this past postseason with a ... .752 OPS, which ... actually isn’t that bad? Huh. How 'bout that? You know what? Maybe it’s best to hold multiple thoughts in our heads at the same time. Yes, Judge underwhelmed by his lofty standards in a 14-game postseason sample, but maybe, just maybe, that doesn’t invalidate what was an all-time magnificent offensive performance in the regular season. Judge’s 2024 was, by OPS+, the best season by a hitter since Barry Bonds put up a 263 OPS+ in 2004. The titanic Yankees outfielder finished the season with a comical stat line: 58 home runs, a .322 batting average, an 1.159 OPS and an adjusted OPS 123% better than league average. Only three players in MLB history have posted an OPS+ higher than Judge’s 223 mark this year: Bonds, Babe Ruth and Ted Williams. Not too shabby. And sure, as my idiotic ramblings above alluded to, Judge’s struggles on the big stage leave an unfortunate haze over our collective memory of his season. It’s a fact, one he knows and one he has owned: When the games mattered most, Judge was not at his best. Whether that’s because he can’t handle the spotlight or because baseball is difficult and random is up to the eye of the beholder. Just remember that the that it’s impossible to pin on any one soul. Maybe I’m being the “ , but whatever. Judge's outstanding 162 cannot simply wipe away his autumnal stumble. Yet at the same time, his substandard October shouldn’t completely overshadow six months of downright dominance. Both are true, both are important, and both tell the story of Aaron Judge’s 2024, a season that we’ll remember for a long, long time. Hopefully, for all the right reasons. The simple 4-part filter that a legacy fund has used to beat the S&P 500 for over 2 decades

Their expectation levels may have been different, but neither Rutgers nor Seton Hall has had the most promising start to the season. New Jersey's two power-conference programs will try to author a signature win when the Pirates visit the Scarlet Knights for the Garden State Hardwood Classic on Saturday afternoon in Piscataway, N.J. Rutgers (6-4) endured a three-game losing streak before picking up its first Big Ten win of the season Tuesday, 80-76 over Penn State. The Scarlet Knights have enjoyed plenty of attention thanks to five-star freshmen Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey, but they've also put a loss to Kennesaw State on their resume. They'll try to assert their dominance over Seton Hall (5-5), which has lost to Fordham, Hofstra and Monmouth while fielding one of the weakest offenses in Division I. At 60.1 points per game, the Pirates rank sixth-to-last in the country, even as they limit opponents to 59.4 points per outing (the No. 11 scoring defense). Rutgers is 5-0 at home after leading by as many as 15 in the Penn State victory. Harper had 24 points, 12 rebounds and five assists and Bailey produced 15 points and 15 rebounds. "They're like a sixth defender for us," Harper said of the fans. "We've been on the road for 20 days so seeing all of our fans, and seeing how loud they were, it meant the world to us." The student section will be especially fired up to see the rival Pirates, which could make free-throw shooting an issue for them. They rank No. 350 in the country at 60.3 percent from the foul line entering Friday. However, Seton Hall pulled out a road win the last time the game was played at Rutgers. In a defensive rock fight in 2022, the Pirates prevailed 45-43. Rutgers got revenge last season at Seton Hall's place, winning 70-63. But most players on both rosters are new and will experience the rivalry game for the first time. "I don't have a Jersey player on my team, right?" Pirates coach Shaheen Holloway told NJ.com . "So I have to get those guys to understand rivalries." Seton Hall will lean on Chaunce Jenkins (11.8 ppg) -- who was limited in the team's 85-76 loss to Oklahoma State on Sunday due to a knee injury, but is cleared to face Rutgers -- and Isaiah Coleman (11.7 ppg), one of three returning players from last year's team. For Rutgers, Harper is excited about the rivalry having grown up in New Jersey and watched his older brother, Ron Harper Jr., play in the game. At 23.4 ppg, Dylan Harper is the third-leading scorer in the country, and he adds 5.1 rebounds and 4.6 assists per contest. Seton Hall leads the all-time series 42-32. --Field Level Media
