Kyle Fellers, one of the Bow parents suing the school district over its handling of a silent protest against transgender girls in sports, described gender inclusion policies that infringe on female protections in educational settings as an effort to “appease a mentally ill cult.” “A cult in my mind is a group of individuals who quash any type of dissent on their beliefs,” Fellers said in court on Thursday. “I have the right to believe they are biological males.” His comments came during testimony in federal court in Concord Thursday in a case that centers on First Amendment rights to free speech and expression. Fellers, along with Anthony and Nicole Foote, and Eldon Rash, a family member of Fellers, filed the lawsuit after a protest at a Bow High School girls’ soccer game against Plymouth Regional High School on Sept 17. During the game, the group wore pink armbands marked with “XX,” a reference to the chromosomes associated with biological females, to signal their opposition to transgender athletes competing in girls’ sports. A transgender girl was playing for the Plymouth team that day. Bow police confronted the demonstrators and after the game, Fellers and Foote were issued no trespass orders, accusing them of violating district policies against bullying and harassment. Fellers in court said his concerns are limited to transgender participation in sports and do not extend to broader issues involving transgender individuals. Brian Cullen, the school district’s attorney, presented emails in court to argue that wearing the pink armbands was not just about supporting women’s sports but also carried an anti-transgender message. “No one other than the United States transgender mob supports boys playing on girls’ sports teams,” Foote wrote in another email, dated Aug. 23, to Jay Vogt, the Bow girls’ varsity soccer coach. Cross|Word Flipart Typeshift SpellTower Really Bad Chess While the no-trespass orders have been lifted, the group of Bow parents said they want to be able to wear the pink armbands at all school and athletic events — not just girls’ soccer games — to show support for women’s sports, without facing penalties from the Bow School District. The Bow School District maintains that wearing those armbands violates its policy and is considered harassment of transgender students, including transgender girls who participate in girls’ sports. “Wearing XX wristbands, we believe it violates school policy and doesn’t comply with Title IX,” said Cullen, an attorney for the school district. “The school’s position is if they come to games with the bands, we will ask them to take off.” Del Kolde, an attorney from the Institute of Free Speech Attorneys representing the parents pushed back. “They call what my clients did as harassment,” said Kolde “We don’t call it harassment. We call this legal passive speech.”49 jili

While it isn’t exactly how they had hoped to begin the year, they’re not in a horrible position. Doc Rivers and company have looked the part of contenders in some games, but have fallen completely flat in others. Of course, the Bucks have been forced to play the entire season so far without star forward Khris Middleton . He has been out due to an ankle injury. The hope is that he will return soon. Now, the Milwaukee Bucks have received a major update about Middleton just ahead of Thanksgiving. Milwaukee Bucks Receive Major Injury Update on Khris Middleton According to a report from ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania , Middleton has taken a big step towards returning to the court. He was able to participate in five-on-five drills and the goal is to bring him back sometime after Thanksgiving. “I’m told for the first time in this rehab process from bilateral ankle surgeries, Khris Middleton completed full five-on-five scrimmages on Monday with the Bucks in Miami,” Charania revealed. “The team is hopeful that he is going to be able to make his season debut at some point after Thanksgiving. From what I’m told, he has been already cleared medically to play, but for him it’s about comfort. [He intends to return] when he’s fully right and feels that he’s going to be able to make an impact, like we know Khris Middleton can, when he is fully healthy.” Middleton getting back on the court could be the boost that the Bucks need to get back to playing to their full potential. Last season, the 33-year-old ended up playing in 55 games. He averaged 15.1 points per game to go along with 5.3 assists and 4.7 rebounds. In addition to those averages, Middleton shot 49.3 percent from the floor and 38.1 percent from three-point range. While he has been medically cleared for quite some time, Middleton has been being patient and focusing at being at 100 percent before he returns for the Milwaukee Bucks. All of that being said, the hope is that he will be back on the floor in the near future. The Bucks could use the help and he would take pressure off of both Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard. Only time will tell, but this update is a step in the right direction. Luke Humphries comment about Luke Littler says it all after Players Championship gloryWASHINGTON D.C. -- With right guard and cornerback ruled out of Sunday's game because of injuries, the will be without more than $100 million of salary cap space when they take on the . Martin was listed as doubtful and unlikely to play because of ankle and shoulder injuries and did not practice during the week. Diggs was listed as questionable with groin and knee injuries after taking part in two limited workouts on Thursday and Friday. The Cowboys already have quarterback ($44.6 million), defensive end ($20.4 million) and wide receiver ($10 million) on injured reserve. Martin counts $15.5 million against the cap, while Diggs counts $15.3 million. Cooks had his practice window to return from a knee issue last week open, but he was not added to the 53-man roster on Saturday. Tackle (toe) and defensive end (knee) were activated off injured reserve Saturday and both are expected to play against the Commanders. The Cowboys created the spots by placing safety on injured reserve with a shoulder injury and waiving defensive end . With Diggs out, the Cowboys still have not had their top three cornerbacks play in a game this year. Pro Bowl cornerback will make his season debut Sunday after missing the first 10 games because of surgery to repair a stress fracture in his left foot. Nickel corner is returning to the lineup Sunday after a one-week absence with a neck injury. With Martin out, will replace him. Two other linemen -- left tackle and left guard -- have dealt with injuries this week. Martin's availability for the Thanksgiving Day matchup against the is also in question as he has dealt with both ankle and shoulder injuries. The Cowboys elevated tight end from the practice squad with (concussion) out. Cornerback was also elevated for the second straight game.

Luke Humphries defeats Luke Littler to retain Players Championship Finals title

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Formula 1 on Monday at last said it will expand its grid in 2026 to make room for an American team that is partnered with General Motors. “As the pinnacle of motorsports, F1 demands boundary-pushing innovation and excellence. It’s an honor for General Motors and Cadillac to join the world’s premier racing series, and we’re committed to competing with passion and integrity to elevate the sport for race fans around the world," GM President Mark Reuss said. "This is a global stage for us to demonstrate GM’s engineering expertise and technology leadership at an entirely new level.” The approval ends years of wrangling that launched a U.S. Justice Department investigation into why Colorado-based Liberty Media, the commercial rights holder of F1, would not approve the team initially started by Michael Andretti. Andretti in September stepped aside from leading his namesake organization, so the 11th team will be called Cadillac F1 and be run by new Andretti Global majority owners Dan Towriss and Mark Walter. The team will use Ferrari engines its first two years until GM has a Cadillac engine built for competition in time for the 2028 season. Towriss is the the CEO and president of Group 1001 and entered motorsports via Andretti's IndyCar team when he signed on financial savings platform Gainbridge as a sponsor. Towriss is now a major part of the motorsports scene with ownership stakes in both Spire Motorsports' NASCAR team and Wayne Taylor Racing's sports car team. Walter is the chief executive of financial services firm Guggenheim Partners and the controlling owner of both the World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers and Premier League club Chelsea. “We’re excited to partner with General Motors in bringing a dynamic presence to Formula 1," Towriss said. "Together, we’re assembling a world-class team that will embody American innovation and deliver unforgettable moments to race fans around the world.’’ Mario Andretti, the 1978 F1 world champion, will have an ambassador role with Cadillac F1. But his son, Michael, will have no official position with the organization now that he has scaled back his involvement with Andretti Global. The approval has been in works for weeks but was held until after last weekend's Las Vegas Grand Prix to not overshadow the showcase event of the Liberty Media portfolio. Max Verstappen won his fourth consecutive championship in Saturday night's race, the third and final stop in the United States for the top motorsports series in the world. Grid expansion in F1 is both infrequent and often unsuccessful. Four teams were granted entries in 2010 that should have pushed the grid to 13 teams and 26 cars for the first time since 1995. One team never made it to the grid and the other three had vanished by 2017. There is only one American team on the current F1 grid — owned by California businessman Gene Haas — but it is not particularly competitive and does not field American drivers. Andretti’s dream was to field a truly American team with American drivers. The fight to add this team has been going on for three-plus years and F1 initially denied the application despite approval from F1 sanctioning body FIA . The existing 10 teams, who have no voice in the matter, also largely opposed expansion because of the dilution in prize money and the billions of dollars they’ve already invested in the series. Andretti in 2020 tried and failed to buy the existing Sauber team. From there, he applied for grid expansion and partnered with GM, the top-selling manufacturer in the United States. The inclusion of GM was championed by the FIA and president Mohammed Ben Sulayem, who said Michael Andretti’s application was the only one of seven applicants to meet all required criteria to expand F1’s current grid. “General Motors is a huge global brand and powerhouse in the OEM world and is working with impressive partners," Ben Sulayem said Monday. "I am fully supportive of the efforts made by the FIA, Formula 1, GM and the team to maintain dialogue and work towards this outcome of an agreement in principle to progress this application." Despite the FIA's acceptance of Andretti and General Motors from the start, F1 wasn't interested in Andretti — but did want GM. At one point, F1 asked GM to find another team to partner with besides Andretti. GM refused and F1 said it would revisit the Andretti application if and when Cadillac had an engine ready to compete. “Formula 1 has maintained a dialogue with General Motors, and its partners at TWG Global, regarding the viability of an entry following the commercial assessment and decision made by Formula 1 in January 2024,” F1 said in a statement. “Over the course of this year, they have achieved operational milestones and made clear their commitment to brand the 11th team GM/Cadillac, and that GM will enter as an engine supplier at a later time. Formula 1 is therefore pleased to move forward with this application process." Yet another major shift in the debate over grid expansion occurred earlier this month with the announced resignation of Liberty Media CEO Greg Maffei, who was largely believed to be one of the biggest opponents of the Andretti entry. “With Formula 1’s continued growth plans in the US, we have always believed that welcoming an impressive US brand like GM/Cadillac to the grid and GM as a future power unit supplier could bring additional value and interest to the sport," Maffei said. "We credit the leadership of General Motors and their partners with significant progress in their readiness to enter Formula 1."
