roulette rules Bethlehem (West Bank), Dec 25 (AP) Bethlehem marked another somber Christmas Eve on Tuesday in the traditional birthplace of Jesus under the shadow of war in Gaza. The excitement and cheer that typically descends on the West Bank during Christmas week were nowhere to be found. The festive lights and giant tree that normally decorate Manger Square were missing, as were the throngs of foreign tourists that usually fill the square. Palestinian scouts marched silently through the streets, a departure from their usual raucous brass marching band. Security forces arranged barriers near the Church of the Nativity, built atop the spot where Jesus is believed to have been born. The cancellation of Christmas festivities is a severe blow to the town's economy. Tourism accounts for an estimated 70% of Bethlehem's income — almost all from the Christmas season. Salman said unemployment is hovering around 50% — higher than the 30% unemployment across the rest of the West Bank, according to the Palestinian Finance Ministry. Latin Patriarch Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the top Roman Catholic cleric in the Holy Land, noted the shuttered shops and empty streets and expressed hope that next year would be better. “This has to be the last Christmas that is so sad,” he told hundreds of people gathered in Manger Square, where normally tens of thousands would congregate. Pizzaballa held a special pre-Christmas Mass in the Church of the Holy Family in Gaza City. Several Palestinian Christians told the Associated Press that they have been displaced in the church since the war began in October of last year with barely enough food and water. “We hope by next year at the same day we'd be able to celebrate Christmas at our homes and go to Bethlehem,” said Najla Tarazi, a displaced woman. “We hope to celebrate in Jerusalem ... and for the war to end. This is the most important thing for us and the most important demand we have these days because the situation is really hard. We don't feel happy.” Bethlehem is an important center in the history of Christianity, but Christians make up only a small percentage of the roughly 14 million people spread across the Holy Land. There are about 182,000 in Israel, 50,000 in the West Bank and Jerusalem and 1,300 in Gaza, according to the U.S. State Department. The number of visitors to the town plunged from a pre-COVID high of around 2 million per year in 2019 to fewer than 100,000 in 2024, said Jiries Qumsiyeh, the spokesperson for the Palestinian Tourism Ministry. After nightfall, the golden walls of the Church of the Nativity were illuminated as a few dozen people quietly milled about. A young boy stood holding a pile of balloons for sale, but gave up because there were no customers to buy them. The war in Gaza has deterred tourists and has prompted a surge of violence in the West Bank, with more than 800 Palestinians killed by Israeli fire and dozens of Israelis killed in militant attacks. Palestinian officials do not provide a breakdown of how many of the deceased are civilians and how many are fighters. Since the deadly Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attack that sparked the war, access to and from Bethlehem and other towns in the West Bank has been difficult, with long lines of motorists waiting to pass through Israeli military checkpoints. The restrictions have prevented some 150,000 Palestinians from leaving the territory to work in Israel, causing the economy there to contract by 25%. In the Oct. 7 assault on southern Israel, Hamas-led militants killed about 1,200 people, most of them civilians, and took more than 250 Israeli hostages. Israeli officials believe that around 100 hostages remain in captivity in the Gaza Strip. Elsewhere, Christmas celebrations were also subdued. Syrians protest after Christmas tree burned Scores of Syrian Christians protested Tuesday in Damascus, demanding protection after the burning of a Christmas tree in Hama the day before. Videos and images shared on social media showed the large, decorated tree burning at a roundabout in Suqalabiyah, a town in the Hama countryside. It remains unclear who was responsible for setting the tree on fire. In a video that circulated on social media, a representative of Syria's new leadership, Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham, could be seen visiting the site and addressing the community. He said: “This act was committed by people who are not Syrian, and they will be punished beyond your expectations.” Germans mourn after Christmas market attack German celebrations were darkened by a car attack on a Christmas market on Friday that left five people dead and 200 people injured. President Frank-Walter Steinmeier rewrote his annual recorded Christmas Day speech to address the attack. He plans to acknowledge that “there is grief, pain, horror and incomprehension over what took place in Magdeburg,” while urging Germans to “stand together,” according to an early copy of the speech. Heavy snow hits the Balkans A snowstorm in the Balkans stranded drivers and downed power lines, but some saw the beauty in it. “I'm actually glad its falling, especially because of Christmas,” said Mirsad Jasarevic in Zenica, Bosnia. “We did not have snow for Christmas for 17 years here, and now is the time for wonderful white Christmas.” Planes grounded in the United States American Airlines briefly grounded flights across the U.S. on Tuesday due to a technical problem just as the Christmas travel season kicked into overdrive. Winter weather threatened more potential problems for those planning to fly or drive. Meanwhile, the flight-tracking site FlightAware reported that 1,447 flights entering or leaving the U.S., or serving domestic destinations, were delayed Tuesday, with 28 flights canceled. Spanish ministries bring seafarers holiday cheer In the port of Barcelona, Spain, volunteers from the faith-based ministry Stella Maris visited seven ships docked there on Christmas Eve to deliver Nativity scenes and the local specialty of turrón (nougat candy) to seafarers. The volunteers met seafarers from India, the Philippines, Turkey and elsewhere, said Ricard Rodríguez-Martos, a Catholic deacon and former merchant marine captain who leads Stella Maris in this major Mediterranean harbor. Chicago library discovers it holds largest example in existence of an extremely rare paper typeCHEYENNE – Food is a basic necessity of life, and few places in Cheyenne understand this as much as St. Joseph's Food Pantry. Whether it be a single mom working two jobs or senior citizens raising their grandchildren, it can be a struggle sometimes to get food on the table for the whole family. Monday morning, from 9:30 to noon, St. Joseph's Food Pantry gave away more than 500 boxes full of food for Thanksgiving meals to local families. There was no financial requirement for pick-up; you only needed to be a resident of Laramie County. The pantry opened pre-registration for the Thanksgiving boxes late last month, and maxed out by Nov. 11, according to food pantry director Eva Estorga. She said this was the fastest they've ever "sold out." When the pantry initially began in the 1980s, it was relatively small, starting in the basement of the parish office of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cheyenne. Over the course of many years, the demand for assistance required the pantry to move to a larger space, and then another one. They've been at their current location since 2016. The pantry currently provides an average of 700 to 800 clients a week with a week's worth of groceries. They serve their clients Monday through Thursday and have help from more than 80 volunteers. A majority of their produce, whether it be for Thanksgiving or any other day, is donated by local businesses, the community or food drives, but they also use any money donated to them to buy products themselves. The Thanksgiving box distribution day takes months of preparation. Estorga has to make sure they have enough food and boxes, is constantly seeking volunteers, and double-checks that all of the orders can be fulfilled when the day comes. Volunteers spend the beginning of November helping bring Thanksgiving food donations into the warehouse, and the day of the event is when they pack and hand out all the boxes. They usually need about 40 volunteers every year for it, and any extra ingredients they have will go to the boxes they hand out at Christmas time. The pantry has been doing the Thanksgiving box distribution for more than 15 years, and most of the food items have remained the same, but they try to get more each year. They give away boxed potato mixes, stuffing, turkey, canned yams and other Thanksgiving staples. Kathy Cunningham, a volunteer with the pantry who helps with check-ins, told the Wyoming Tribune Eagle, "We've had families tell us that if we didn't put this on, they wouldn't have had a Thanksgiving." The way the pantry distributes its boxes is with a drive-through system, where volunteers help with unloading food deliveries, picking up donations, filling boxes, welcoming clients, managing volunteer teams and distributing food. Wyoming first lady Jennie Gordon also helped in the assembly line as a volunteer. Another volunteer, Denise Hawkins, who helps with St. Joseph's Food Pantry's website and social media, told the WTE, "I love volunteering, in general, but here it's more of a family, and it feels like I receive more than I give." The pantry will be closed until next Monday so volunteers can spend the holidays with their families. "We've been doing this for years, and it just wouldn't be possible without (the kindness) of the community," said Hawkins. The United States has imposed sanctions on four Pakistani entities, including the state-owned National Development Complex (NDC), citing their involvement in advancing Pakistan’s missile program. The move, which marks the first such action against a Pakistani state-owned enterprise tied to missile development, has sparked concerns over already strained US-Pakistan relations after a senior White House office stated that Pakistan’s missile program may hurt US interests and security. US Accusations Of Threats To National Security A senior White House official, Deputy National Security Adviser Jon Finer, stated that Pakistan’s missile program poses a potential threat to US national security. Addressing the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Finer explained that Islamabad is developing long-range ballistic missile capabilities that could strike targets beyond South Asia, including the United States. “Pakistan has developed increasingly sophisticated missile technology, from long-range systems to advanced testing capabilities for larger rocket motors,” Finer said. He warned that such advancements, if unchecked, could enable Pakistan to target US assets and territories. The US sanctions come in response to Pakistan’s recent missile advancements, including a training launch of the Shaheen missile with a range of 2,750 kilometres and the test of the Ababeel missile, equipped with multiple independent re-entry vehicles (MIRVs). Both developments have raised alarms in Washington, particularly given their potential to target US bases in the Middle East and beyond. ALSO READ : Arab Spring Anniversary: 14 Years On, Middle-East Still Feel The Heat Of Uprisings; Impact On Nations Explained NDC's Role In Missile Development The NDC, established in 1990 and linked to the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC), has played a pivotal role in Pakistan’s missile program. It has produced the Shaheen and Nasr missile series and is involved in the production of transporter erector launchers (TELs). Recent activities, including collaborations with Chinese engineers, have further elevated Pakistan’s missile capabilities, prompting the US to take action. In 2024, Pakistan demonstrated significant advancements in its missile program, including the launch of the Hangor 2-class submarines and a missile launch from a naval frigate. These developments, seen as enhancing Pakistan’s strategic capabilities, have been viewed as a direct challenge to US Indo-Pacific plans and regional stability. Pakistan's Response Pakistan dismissed the US allegations as baseless and unfortunate, asserting that its missile program is intended solely for regional stability and self-defence. The Foreign Office (FO) issued a statement criticizing the sanctions as biased and counterproductive, warning that such actions could exacerbate military asymmetries in South Asia. Mumtaz Zehra Baloch, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, reiterated that the country’s strategic capabilities are aimed at maintaining credible minimum deterrence against threats from India. “Pakistan’s strategic program is to protect its sovereignty and maintain peace in the region,” she said, highlighting that the US allegations reflect a lack of historical understanding. ALSO READ : ‘Suicidal Empathy’: Elon Musk Slams Germany For Not Extraditing Christmas Market Attacker, Calls Scholz ‘Incompetent Fool’ Implications For US-Pakistan Relations The sanctions have further strained the already complex relationship between Washington and Islamabad. Once close allies during the Cold War and in the fight against al-Qaeda, the two nations have seen their ties fray over issues like Pakistan’s support for the Taliban, its nuclear weapons program, and US alignment with India. Pakistan has expressed concerns over the growing US-India defence partnership, which includes advanced missile systems and technology transfers that Islamabad views as destabilizing. Despite the challenges, Pakistan maintains strong ties with China, which has been a key supplier for its missile program. Pakistan's Nuclear Capabilities Pakistan’s missile and nuclear programs, developed as deterrents against India, have been a cornerstone of its defence strategy. The country conducted its first nuclear test in 1998, two decades after India, and now possesses an estimated 170 nuclear warheads, according to the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists.KLEIN: Manitoba health care is boardroom-heavy, beside-shortSam Konstas is about to join two cult heroes, a one-Test wonder, Italy’s national captain and a fellow Cranbrook alumni in cricket’s quirkiest groups. And on Thursday, Konstas will add his own twist to the list of Australian Boxing Day debutants, when the 19-year-old becomes the nation’s youngest ever male Test opener. Konstas will become Australian men’s Text cricketer No.468 when he debuts against India at the MCG and the 14th to do so on Boxing Day. In a list as unique as it is diverse, Australia’s Boxing Day debutants range from the nation’s equal-most capped player in Steve Waugh to a one-Test quick in Matthew Nicholson. Current national selector Tony Dodemaide also features, as does the larger-than-life Greg Mathews. Scott Boland is the other cult hero after his spell of 6-7 in 2021, which doubled as the best debut at the MCG from a bowler since Brett Lee’s stunning start in 1999. Scott Boland. (Photo by Gareth Copley-ICC/ICC via Getty Images) Italy captain Joe Burns also started his international career as a No.6 for Australia at the MCG in 2014, before later ending his Test innings there as an opener against India in 2020. Konstas will join Ed Cowan as one of the few Australian openers to debut in Test cricket’s biggest annual match, along with Phil Jaques in 2005. “Debuting for Australia in general is a big occasion, then Boxing Day has a different feel about it,” Jaques told AAP. “It’s Christmas time, there are a lot of eyeballs on it. A lot of family’s tradition is to watch it on Boxing Day, so it makes it that little bit more special. “It’s just a pinch-yourself moment.” Jaques had a similar lead-in time to Konstas in 2005, given close to a week to prepare after he saw Justin Langer go down injured. While Konstas is already viewed as a star of the future, Boxing Day debuts inevitably attract more spotlight than any others with a national focus on cricket. “That’s a good thing,” Jaques said. “No matter where you debut, it’s always a big occasion. And everyone who debuted for Australia sees that game as a bit of a blur, it all happens really quick. “On Boxing Day there is no bigger expectation and everyone is rooting for you, so you knock it over when it is a bit of a blur anyway.” Like Ed Cowan six years later, Jaques took strike for the first ball of Boxing Day after being asked to by Matthew Hayden. And as someone who has had eyes on Konstas for years as a former NSW coach, Jaques believes the 19-year-old would thrive on the chance to do likewise against Jasprit Bumrah. “It was actually one of the highlights being able to face that first over of a Test match,” Jaques said. Sam Konstas. (Photo by Josh Chadwick/Getty Images) “The crowd is up and about and excited about what’s coming. You get to the end of the over and take a breath. “Sam would lean into the whole week and opportunity. He has already spoken about wanting to take every ball as it comes and play fearlessly. “He is a young player coming in with zero baggage. He can go out and play his game and enjoy the week for what it is.” © AAP

Class D-1 Sandy Creek 44, Stanton 42 LINCOLN — Sandy Creek used a 24-point third quarter to take the lead from defending champion Stanton and won its first state football title with a 44-42 victory in the Eight Man-1 final at Memorial Stadium. Ethan Shaw threw for three touchdowns and ran for two while putting up 278 offensive yards. His 7-yard run late in the third quarter and subsequent 2-point conversion provided a 44-36 lead. Stanton closed to 44-42 on Barrett Wilke’s fifth touchdown of the game early in the fourth quarter. But Wilke, who rushed for 248 yards, was tackled as he tried for the tying two-point conversion. The Mustangs were driving for the game-winning score, but were stopped on a fourth down play and Sandy Creek was able to run out the clock. Class A Millard South 27, Omaha Westside 10 LINCOLN — Millard South’s defense was there when needed Monday night, and the Patriots have their first state championship in 15 years. Aside from a second-quarter breakaway touchdown by Tay Tay Jenkins, two-time defending champion Omaha Westside — without its ailing coach — did next to nothing on offense and its 32-game winning streak ended with a whimper. Millard South 27, Westside 10. Aamir Hill caught two of Jett Thomalla’s three touchdowns, including two in the second half. Hill had 164 yards of offense, which included an 81-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Westside’s scoring all came in the second quarter as it led 10-6 at halftime. stu.pospisil@owh.com , twitter.com/stuOWH Get local news delivered to your inbox! {{description}} Email notifications are only sent once a day, and only if there are new matching items. This Thanksgiving , celestial enthusiasts in the United States have an extra reason to look up. A minor solar storm is forecast to grace the Northern Hemisphere with the mesmerizing northern lights , also known as the aurora borealis . The dazzling phenomenon, characterized by green, red, and pink hues, is expected to be visible in parts of the northern United States on Thanksgiving night and Black Friday, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), as mentioned in a report by USA Today. This rare event comes courtesy of a coronal mass ejection (CME) from the Sun, which is sending charged particles hurtling toward Earth. While these geomagnetic storms pose minimal risks to satellites and power grids, they promise a stunning spectacle for skygazers, offering a festive alternative to post-dinner football or shopping. NOAA Issues Geomagnetic Storm Watch NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center has been tracking the CME since earlier this week, issuing a geomagnetic storm watch for Thursday and Friday. The event is classified as a G1 (minor) on Thanksgiving Day, escalating to G2 (moderate) by Friday, as per the report by USA Today. Also Read : Prosecutors new claim against Sean Diddy Combs: Rapper physically abused and threatened to kill staff The Science Behind the Northern Lights Auroras occur when charged particles from the Sun interact with Earth’s magnetosphere and atmospheric gases, causing the release of energy in the form of light. These interactions create stunning displays of color that vary depending on the altitude and type of gas involved. As the Sun approaches its solar maximum—a period of heightened solar activity that occurs every 11 years—events like this are expected to become more frequent. With the solar cycle peaking through 2025, aurora enthusiasts can anticipate more opportunities to witness these breathtaking natural light shows. FAQs What is the cause of the northern lights? These dazzling light displays occur due to magnetic storms sparked by solar activity, including solar flares or coronal mass ejections. Charged particles from these phenomena travel toward Earth via the solar wind. Do the northern lights happen every night? "The northern lights are active around the clock, every day of the year," explained Chad Blakely, photographer and owner of the northern lights tour company Lights Over Lapland. "However, spotting them requires being in the right place at the right time." The Memphis Grizzlies are learning the benefits of giving this season. When Memphis hosts the Indiana Pacers on Sunday, the Grizzlies will be seeking their sixth consecutive win and their 10th in their past 13 games. Their November success has been the result of an unselfish, team-oriented approach. The Grizzlies enter Saturday leading the NBA with 30.4 assists per game. Memphis dished out 36 assists on 47 made baskets in Friday's 120-109 home victory over New Orleans. "The ball movement (was) great," Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins said. "I think we had nine or 10 guys with two or more assists -- or 10 out of 11 guys (with) an assist, which is great." Ja Morant, who missed Wednesday's home win against Detroit due to a bruised knee, led the Grizzlies with seven assists against New Orleans, and Marcus Smart had six off the bench. Despite being limited to 10 games this season, Morant leads the team with 9.1 assists per game, followed by Scotty Pippen Jr. (5.7) and Smart (4.1). "When the ball's moving, it's about getting everyone involved," Pippen said. "It makes it a lot of fun to play with everyone. So, I feel like that's (when we are) the most dangerous, when everyone's touching the ball and everyone feels aggressive." Friday's win marked Memphis' first NBA Cup victory in the second year of the event. The Grizzlies had lost their first seven games of NBA Cup group play. As for Indiana, the Pacers were eliminated from contention for the NBA Cup knockout round with their 130-106 home loss Friday to Detroit. Indiana is 0-3 in Cup play. The Pacers had won three straight games -- all at home -- before being overpowered by the Pistons. Pascal Siakam and Tyrese Haliburton led Indiana with 21 and 19 points, respectively. While the Pacers have struggled during the first two months of the season, Indiana coach Rick Carlisle said several of his younger players have shown signs of contributing at a significant level, including second-year forward Jarace Walker. Walker, 21, finished with 10 points and notched five of the team's nine steals off the bench on Friday. Additionally, third-year guard Bennedict Mathurin, 22, has excelled in a starting role and is averaging 17.7 points per game, while Quenton Jackson, 26, has averaged 10.3 points in his past three games. "(Walker) went in there (Friday against Detroit) and decisively stepped into shot and he was physical," Carlisle said. "Right now is a time for guys like Jarace and Q (Jackson) and Ben (Mathurin) to experience what it's like to have this kind of responsibility and respond as best they can." Mathurin is second on the team in scoring behind Siakam (19.9 points per game), while Haliburton's 16.6 scoring average ranks third. Sunday's game is the first of two regular-season meetings between the teams. Indiana and Memphis split last season's two meetings, with each squad winning at home. --Field Level MediaKam Jones scored 20 points and dished with 10 assists to lead the No. 10 Marquette Golden Eagles to a 94-62 victory over the visiting Western Carolina on Saturday afternoon in Milwaukee. Jones added six rebounds for Marquette (8-0), which is off to its best start since winning 10 straight to begin the 2011-12 campaign that ended with a Sweet 16 appearance. Ben Gold added 12 points, while Stevie Mitchell scored 10 and had three steals. David Joplin, Caedin Hamilton and Royce Parham each netted nine points for the Golden Eagles. The Catamounts (2-4) were led by Bernard Pelote's 13 points and eight boards. Jamar Livingston chipped in 10 points and CJ Hyland bundled five points with five rebounds and six assists. Marquette controlled most of the game, thanks largely to 51.4 percent shooting and 21 takeaways. The Golden Eagles built a 16-point lead in the first half before Western Carolina clawed within 37-28 with 3:55 left. Marquette responded with a 12-2 run to take a 49-30 advantage into the break, its largest lead of the game to that point. The game quickly got out of hand from there, with the Golden Eagles eventually scoring 11 straight points to push its lead to 81-45 with 7:15 remaining. Marquette finished with 26 points off of Catamount turnovers and hit 14 of 40 shots (35.0 percent) from 3-point range. The win wasn't all smooth sailing for the Golden Eagles, who lost backup guard Zaide Lowery to an apparent left knee injury. Lowery was helped off the court and into the locker room by his teammates with 1:36 left in the game. Saturday's game was a final tune-up for Marquette, which has three challenging games coming up against No. 5 Iowa State, No. 15 Wisconsin and Dayton before Big East conference play begins Dec. 18. --Field Level MediaCanadian activist accuses Hong Kong of meddling after reward for arrestUnlike Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU with their returns to NBC before the end of the 2024 TV schedule , the wait for Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 5 to premiere for fans with a Peacock subscription is still on. At the time of writing, no explanation has been given for why Breaking Bad vet Shiban is stepping away from the series with production said to be around halfway done, which is particularly interesting since he and Christopher Meloni were the only two to have their involvement confirmed when the move from NBC to Peacock was first announced. This move makes him the seventh showrunner to depart, with the revolving door of bosses starting with (technically) Matt Olmstead, then Ilene Chaiken, Barry O'Brien, Bryan Goluboff, Sean Jablonski, and David Graziano. Season 5 would have been Shiban's second full season. And the departure of Shiban ahead of Organized Crime 's presumed return in the 2025 TV schedule reminded me of when I was fortunate enough to speak with cast members of Season 4 about what he brought to the hit crime drama. Danielle Moné Truitt, who plays Sgt. Ayanna Bell, said this about Shiban as the new boss ahead of the fourth season premiere: I feel like our scripts are very grounded this season. I think because of those other shows he was on, I think he brings a bit of that vibe to our show as well. It's network television, so it's going to be what it is, but I do think he brings just a little more gravitas to the world that we're in. And so I'm appreciating that. I've only read three of his scripts so far, because we're about to start Episode 4 soon Not only is John Shiban an alum of Breaking Bad , but the Emmy-nominated writer has been a producer on Ozark , Hell on Wheels , Supernatural , The X-Files , and more. More recently, he added Dune : Prophecy to his list of EP credits. Ahead of OC Season 4, Truitt appreciated his "grounded" approach to the Law & Order: SVU spinoff, and that's not all. She went on: I've read three of his scripts, I've liked the scripts. I've liked that he hasn't tried to change the characters or throw in stuff that's like, 'What? What is happening?' [laughs] It seems like he's watched the previous seasons. He's kind of in tune with who these characters are, and he's writing based on that. So I appreciate that. Season 4 was one of my personal favorite runs of Organized Crime to date, largely because of what Truitt said about what he brought to the show early on. Of course, I also have been a fan of his earlier projects – particularly The X-Files from a young age – so perhaps I'm biased! Dean Norris, who starred on Breaking Bad alongside Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul for five seasons, joined Organized Crime in Season 4 as a guest star and was promoted to series regular status for Season 5 . Back in April, toward the end of the fourth season, Norris shared that working with Shiban again was what hooked him into joining. He said: CINEMABLEND NEWSLETTER Your Daily Blend of Entertainment News It was fantastic. I mean, other than Chris Meloni, that's the reason for doing the show. John called and he said that we were going to be exploring the family relationships and stuff like that, and he certainly has come through with some great writing in that regard. And he proved his word to be true, and [there] continues to be great stuff, by the way. When I spoke with Norris, there were still several episodes left of Season 4 to air, although the action was certainly approaching its climax and cliffhanger that left me wondering if Season 5 would go full Breaking Bad . The actor continued: I've already seen almost to the end. I've only got one more script to read. So yeah, it's been great. I felt that I could trust what was gonna happen. We were talking in some interviews about our [Stabler family] dinner scene. That's a quintessential kind of John Shiban type thing, and it was great. Alas, Organized Crime is moving on from yet another showrunner after making the move to streaming. For now, we can only wait for news of who his replacement will be and when Season 5 will actually be ready to premiere. In the meantime, you can always revisit the first four seasons streaming on Peacock and even tune in to SVU when it returns from its devastating fall finale just in case Benson mentions Stabler as an update.
