Dutch Government Proposes Strict 20M Population Cap by 2050 Amid Immigration CrackdownAfter a delegation from the Samajwadi Party (SP) was prevented from visiting the violence-hit Sambhal district on Saturday, party chief Akhilesh Yadav alleged that the administration's statements were being dictated by the government. Addressing the media, Yadav accused the government and the administration of orchestrating the events leading to the Sambhal violence . "A Samajwadi Party delegation was on its way to Sambhal. We all support peace and justice. The administration's statements are made at the government's behest. It is the government's responsibility to ensure justice for the people," he said. Yadav questioned the need for a second survey in Sambhal and criticised the involvement of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers in the process. "When the survey was conducted on the first day, everyone cooperated. Why did the administration conduct another survey? And why were BJP workers accompanying the survey team? The government and the administration are complicit in this injustice. BJP does not want peace," he added. "The divisional commissioner's standing order is being implemented in Sambhal. No delegation is permitted to visit. Once the situation normalises, everyone will be allowed," Singh told ANI. He urged the SP to cooperate and postpone their visit. "They wouldn't want the situation in Sambhal to worsen. They should visit after some time. "The Justice Commission and the media are visiting the area. Will there be unrest if we go? SP leader Ataur Rehman criticised the government's approach, stating, "The law and order situation is deplorable. The government has adopted a dictatorial stance. Former Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam alleged that Akhilesh Yadav played a role in the Sambhal violence. "Akhilesh Yadav has a direct and indirect role in the violence. MPs and MLAs from his party incited the people. The police and administration's actions are aimed at restoring peace. By sympathising with the Muslim vote bank, Yadav is deceiving Muslims. Their visit to Sambhal is mere political tourism," he said. Circle Officer Pankaj Singh reported that SP workers, led by party district president Shivcharan, attempted to reach Sambhal but were detained after defying police orders. District Magistrate Rajender Pensiya advised against visiting the area before December 10. "Section 163 of the BNS has been imposed. Everyone is urged to refrain from visiting before December 10. The situation is peaceful; shops have reopened. This directive is to ensure sensitivity is maintained," said Pensiya. Tensions in Sambhal have been high since November 19, when a local court ordered a survey of the mosque. Clashes between protestors and police over the court-ordered survey of the Jama Masjid resulted in four deaths. The survey was initiated following a petition claiming the mosque site was originally a Harihar temple. (ANI) (You can now subscribe to our Economic Times WhatsApp channel )Tomas Soucek and Aaron Wan-Bissaka combined to burst Newcastle’ s bubble as West Ham handed under-pressure boss Julen Lopetegui breathing space with a priceless Premier League away win. Soucek headed the Hammers into a first-half lead in front of a largely stunned crowd at St James’ Park before Wan-Bissaka’s first goal for the club ended the Magpies’ three-game winning run in all competitions with a 2-0 defeat which prevented them from climbing into the top six. Eddie Howe ’s men were culpable for both goals, but also guilty of not using the wealth of possession they enjoyed effectively enough on a night when chances went begging. By contrast, the visitors were lethal on the break and produced the most fluent passages of play to leave Tyneside more than satisfied with a job well done. The visitors took a 10th-minute lead when Soucek was left criminally unmarked by Lloyd Kelly, deputising for the suspended Dan Burn, to power home a header from Emerson Palmieri’s corner. Joe Willock whipped a shot just wide of Lukasz Fabianski’s left post but, with PSG loanee Carlos Soler linking well with Lucas Paqueta in the centre of midfield and Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville taking a direct approach from the flanks, the Hammers were a constant threat on the counter. Sean Longstaff headed straight at Fabianski from Anthony Gordon’s floated 29th-minute cross and Lewis Hall sent a skidding shot just past the upright as the hosts responded. Fabianski blocked Gordon’s 36th-minute shot from point-blank range after defender Jean-Clair Todibo had failed to deal adequately with Longstaff’s low cross, and Alexander Isak, who had earlier seen a good finish ruled out for offside, blasted off target after controlling Bruno Guimaraes’ cross on his chest, although he may again have gone marginally too soon. Nick Pope had to pluck Bowen’s dipping snapshot from under his crossbar deep into added time, but the first half ended with the visitors a goal to the good. Harvey Barnes, who scored twice inside the final seven minutes in Newcastle’s 4-3 comeback win in the corresponding fixture last season, replaced Willock at the break and helped his side lay siege to the West Ham goal in an early flurry. Gordon’s 51st-minute prod sailed just the wrong side of the far post with Fabianski beaten, but Wan-Bissaka enjoyed better fortune two minutes later when he ran on to Bowen’s pass inside and steered a shot across Pope and in off the upright. The hosts were in disarray at the back and it took a series of blocks and Pope’s saves from Soucek and Soler to preserve their hopes of a fightback. Substitute Sandro Tonali sent Tino Livramento away down the right to cross for Isak, but the misfiring Sweden international was unable to direct his header at goal, and Callum Wilson’s penalty appeals, to his astonishment, were waved away on his first appearance of the season following a clumsy challenge by fellow substitute Konstantinos Mavropanos.

(The Center Square) – Christians helped push President-elect Donald Trump across the finish line on Election Day, a survey found. Trump received the majority of the Christian vote, while Vice President Kamala Harris received the majority of the non-Christian vote. This is according to a report from the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University, which surveyed 2,000 voting-age adults nationally. The election was a historic comeback for Republicans on many fronts, with Trump being the first Republican to win the popular vote vote in over two decades. Among self-identified Christians, Trump also received 56% of their votes, compared to the 60% Harris received from non-Christians. Yet, because the majority of voters still identify as Christians, Trump had a larger share of the vote. “Although Harris won a larger share of the non-Christian vote than Trump’s share of the Christian votes, Christians outnumbered non-Christian voters by more than a 5 to 2 margin – delivering the decisive Nov. 5 victory to President Trump,” the report said. “Not only did most of Trump’s votes come from Christians, but they gave him a 17 million vote cushion over Harris, which proved to be an insurmountable lead.” Christians represented 72% of the voters who turned out. The report also found that Catholics had record-high turnout, despite overall voter and Christian voter turnout being well below what it was in 2020. While voter turnout was lower than 2020 in most of the Christian subgroups polled, 70% of Catholics reported voting compared to 2020’s 67%. Voters with a “biblical worldview” also voted at a higher percentage, up to 67% in 2024 from 2020’s 64%. Just days before the election, Trump predicted that Harris would struggle with the Catholic vote on Election Day. “Kamala Harris has finally lost the Catholic vote,” he said on social media on Oct. 25. “Her and the Democrats persecution of the Catholic Church is unprecedented! Her poll numbers have dropped like a rock, both with Catholics, and otherwise.” While many politicos expressed concerns that Trump’s moderate pro-life stance would disenfranchise Christian and anti-abortion voters, it seems to have much less of an impact than expected. In fact, Trump pointed to Harris’ abortion stance as pushing Catholics toward voting for him. “Kamala is demanding late-term abortion, in months seven, eight, and nine, and even execution after birth, and people aren’t buying it – and they never will,” the former president said . The report found that 20% of Christians selected abortion as the most-consequential issue this election, with inflation (38%) and immigration (34%) receiving even higher percentages. Yet, potentially even more impactful on the election than the increase in the Catholic vote was the significant drop in non-Christian turnout, even higher than those reported in Christian subgroups. The report found that adults “associated with a faith other than Christianity” and “adults who have no religious faith” had a massive drop in turnout from 2020, dropping 12% and 9% respectively. With both of these groups historically supporting Democratic candidates, this cratering in support likely had a significant impact on Harris’ chances of winning. George Barna, who serves as the director of research at the Cultural Research Center and led the survey, said Trump’s boost with Christians was just too much for Harris. “Americans forget that two-thirds of adults in this nation consider themselves to be Christians,” Barna said . “Donald Trump, for all of his perceived and ridiculed faults, did a better job than did Kamala Harris of representing hallowed Christian characteristics such as the importance and support of family, the rule of law, limited government authority, financial responsibility, and the like.”Koppers Ceasing Phthalic Anhydride Operations at Stickney Facility

Home entertainment holiday gift ideas at a discountPedro Martinez Losa's side sit at the half-way stage of their European Championship play-off final and despite Finland the happier of the two teams after Friday's goalless game at Easter abroad, goalkeeper Eartha Cumings has insisted there is no reason for a loss of optimism. Indeed, she believes that Scotland have game changing talent at their disposal. Getting those players into the game and in a position to influence it will at the forefront of Martinez Losa's mind this weekend. Certainly, though, there is no question that it will need to be a vastly improved performance from what was on offer in Leith with Finland easily the more menacing of the two teams. “We do have special players who can turn up for us,” said Cumings . “We all know that we have really talented players in our squad so if that is what it comes to do and it helps us to get over the line then I think we have got it. Read more: Scotland manager admits Finland game was 'not the nicest to watch' Idah admits he 'got carried away' after dream Celtic start “You always need bravery and courage when you play a game of football but especially in these moments. You have to stand up and be counted.” And Cumings has also revealed that the veterans of the squad who have already experienced World Cups and European Championships are the driver for Scotland to go and do it again. Scotland have not been at a major tournament since the World Cup in France back in 2019 with Cumings determined to sample playing on the biggest stages. “I have said it before, it would mean everything,” she said. “We all want to play for Scotland at a major tournament. It is all of our dreams. There are girls who have done it before. “I would love to achieve that. You sit at home and you watch the games on TV and it hurts to not be there. “The girls have been speaking about how amazing the feeling was when they qualified for the World Cup and just saying, ‘imagine that feeling.’ They have said that it has been the best moment of their careers. I would love to experience that euphoria and that joy of making it.” And the goalkeeper, whose day job is with Rosengard in Sweden, believes that while there will be moments when Scotland will have to struggle in Helsinki, that they have the required mentality to prevail. “You always have to suffer in football,” she said. “It is never just great, great, great in football. It is not a linear experience. There are ups and downs and that is what makes the ups so amazing. “We all still believe that it is in our hands. I fully believe that this is a squad who are capable of going and taking us to Switzerland this summer. “There was a bit of tension within the game on Friday night but I think that is to be expected when you know what is at stake. But the squad as a whole is fairly relaxed. “We all believe in one another and we know that if we keep our focus and play the way that we know we can, then it is entirely possible for us to qualify. It will take a huge effort but we are most definitely capable of getting there.” There was a reprieve of sorts for Martinez Losa’s side yesterday as they were given the afternoon off to spend with families ahead of tomorrow’s flight to Helsinki. We went over the game but it is important to be able to get a bit of a break. “I live abroad so I don’t get to see my family too much. So having a day with them was good but we always say that when you have a day off in the midst of a camp like this, that in some ways it feels like you are skipping school. It does feel a bit like there is somewhere you should be. “I think for all of us there will have been a drifting back to the job that lies in hand.”

Accounting for our fleet upgrade and assuming we fully exercise our purchase option for the miners we expect to host at the Vega site, we have a path to approximately 24 exahash per second of self-mining hashrate with an average fleet efficiency of 15.7 joules per terahash as early as Q2 2025.
