This season is officially off the rails. Ohio State thoroughly handled Indiana. Oklahoma trounced Alabama. Florida dashed Mississippi's playoff hopes. Auburn upset Texas A&M. Arizona State and Kansas sent the Big 12 into chaos with their wins over BYU and Colorado. Notre Dame resoundingly ended Army's magical run. And that was all in one week! There are more than 60 voters on the AP Top 25 panel. There’s at least one voter from each state that has an FBS team and a handful of national folks. For the state of Nebraska, there’s one voter. Each week I will break down my ballot compared with the actual Top 25 and write on some pressing topics. Without further ado, here is my ballot ahead of Week 14: And here is the actual AP Top 25 for Week 14: Nothing makes sense. I think Ohio State is the best team in the nation right now. However, the Buckeyes remain No. 2 behind undefeated Oregon. Penn State, even at 10-1, doesn't feel inspiring. Barely beating Minnesota? Not cause to be optimistic. I think Indiana still deserves more credit than it gets. The whole "who have they played" narrative is tired. Of their 10 wins, three teams are bowl-eligible in Nebraska, Washington and Michigan. And Michigan State is at five wins ahead of a Week 14 game against Rutgers. I don't know what to make of the SEC or the Big 12. The SEC might be lucky to get three teams into the College Football Playoff. Two feels reasonable, but three feels like a stretch — especially depending on the final week of the regular season. Every game is winnable for the ranked SEC teams. But every game is losable, too. Auburn could beat Alabama. Texas A&M could beat Texas. Vanderbilt could beat Tennessee. And, man, how about Florida? The Gators, after everything, could finish the season 7-5. Heck, even winless Mississippi State could pull off an Egg Bowl miracle over Mississippi. But regardless of what happens, thanks to tiebreakers, Georgia has clinched the SEC championship game. There's a possibility that the Big 12 gets left out of the CFP. If Boise State runs the table in the Mountain West and Tulane runs the table in the American, there's a possibility that both of them, in two weeks, are ranked ahead of whichever Big 12 team decides it wants to win the conference. Kansas, after being left for dead at 2-6, has rattled off three straight wins over ranked teams and could be bowl-eligible with a win over Baylor. Who's going to even make the Big 12 title game? Four teams are tied at 6-2 heading into the final week of the regular season, and there's plenty of potential chaos on the horizon. And Army... congrats on a great start to the season. Apologies that it had to end the way it did against Notre Dame. Now, was Army's schedule — in retrospect — pretty cupcakey? You betcha. Florida Atlantic, Rice, Temple, Tulsa and East Carolina have all already fired their coaches. And UAB probably should, too. Did I still have them ranked this week? I did. Mostly out of the notion that winning games, above all else, is the most important piece of the puzzle here. And because, honestly, the bottom of the poll is an absolute dumpster fire that's impossible to ascertain. Also, with one week left in the regular season, 77 teams have clinched bowl eligibility out of the possible 82 spots. Two more teams are guaranteed to reach their sixth win this week as there are two games both featuring 5-win teams. There are also 12 other teams that could win and reach a sixth win. It's been a while since there were too many bowl-eligible teams — another sign of the chaos that's unfolded this year. Three teams rose five or more spots this week and one team made a return to the Top 25. Arizona State: The biggest riser of the week? The Sun Devils. They jumped up seven spots to No. 14 after their chaotic victory over BYU. That's three straight wins for Arizona State, two of which came over teams that were ranked at the time. Clemson : The Tigers jumped five spots this week to No. 12 after their convincing victory over The Citadel paired with other teams dropping spots with losses. Iowa State : The Cyclones also rose five spots after narrowly beating an injury-riddled Utah squad. That's two straight wins for the Cyclones, putting them at 9-2 and in a must-win spot this week in Farmaggedon. Missouri: Tigers fans must have whiplash. Missouri is back in the Top 25 this week after a brief stint on the outside looking in. The Tigers vaulted back in at No. 24 after beating Mississippi State, 39-20, to move to 8-3 on the season. Seven teams dropped five or more spots this week, and one team dropped out. Army: Losing like that to Notre Dame? That'll send you tumbling. Army fell seven spots this week, narrowly holding onto the No. 25 spot. Colorado: Colorado also dropped seven spots after losing to Kansas, 37-21, falling to No. 23. The Buffaloes are still in the hunt, but they're in a must-win situation against Oklahoma State this week. Alabama : The Crimson Tide is on red alert this week after they not only lost to Oklahoma, which is bad enough, but only scored three points in the game. For that, Alabama fell six spots to No. 13. Indiana : Well, the fun story of an undefeated Indiana is over. The Hoosiers lost to Ohio State and dropped five spots to No. 10. The Hoosiers could still eclipse their 11th win of the season this week when they host the struggling Purdue Boilermakers to close out the regular season. Mississippi: Mississippi said goodbye to its playoff hopes with a loss to Florida, tumbling six spots down the rankings to No. 15. BYU : The Cougars have now lost two in a row — one to Kansas and now to Arizona State. The Cougars, once the Big 12's best story of the season, fell five spots this week to No. 19. Texas A&M: Texas A&M, after losing a close game to Auburn, 43-41, dropped five spots to No. 20. Oddly enough, though, Texas A&M is still in position to make the SEC title game. Just have to get through ~checks notes~ Texas this week to get there. Washington State: The Cougars lost the de facto Pac-2 Championship Game, so they fell out this week. I didn't want any three-loss teams on my ballot at all last week, but after the chaos of this week, it was impossible to do that again. So, I kept all the three-loss teams below No. 15. And that makes my ballot a little funky compared to the consensus poll. The biggest "miss" I had was Tennessee. I had the Volunteers at No. 11, while they came in at No. 7. Their most recent win came over a struggling UTEP that's 2-9 on the season. Before that, they lost to Georgia. Before that, they beat the only winless team in SEC play in Mississippi State. Now, I'm of the mindset that you have to win the games on your schedule, but they're pretty tough to figure out. Also, I had Memphis ranked instead of Missouri. Here are the games I have circled for this week: No. 16 South Carolina (8-3, 5-3) at No. 12 Clemson (9-2, 7-1) : It's been a long time since the Palmetto Bowl featured two ranked teams — 11 years, in fact. Going to be a fun one in Clemson. 11 a.m. kick Saturday on ESPN. No. 3 Texas (10-1, 6-1) at No. 20 Texas A&M (8-3, 5-2): The Lone Star Showdown is back after a 12-year hiatus, and the stakes are incredibly high as the winner will advance to the SEC title game to face Georgia. 6:30 p.m. kick on Saturday on ABC. Kansas State (8-3, 5-3) at No. 17 Iowa State (9-2, 6-2) : The Big 12 is a mess, and this game will directly influence who makes the Big 12 title game. 6:30 p.m. kick on FOX. Briarfield beats WCCA for fourth MAIS state title in eight yearsA date has been set for a public memorial service for former B.C. Premier John Horgan, who died of cancer on Nov. 12 at the age of 65. Horgan was diagnosed with a third round of cancer shortly before he died, and is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ellie, and their two sons. The province says a public memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Dec. 15 at the Q Centre in Colwood, located at 1767 Island Hwy. CHEK News is planning to broadcast the memorial service live on Dec. 15. Meanwhile, the province says the memorial service will be open to member of the public, though details on how people can attend was not announced Tuesday and will be released “in the coming days.” Several officials will attend the event, including B.C. Premier David Eby and Lt. Gov. Jane Austin. The service will include a religious component by Rev. Dr. Keith Howard, as well as musical interludes and words of remembrance. The funeral comes after the province set up both a virtual and physical book of condolences for the public to remember Horgan. The physical book is located in the B.C. legislature in the Hall of Honour, and is available for signings on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The virtual book of condolences can be found here . The books will remain open until one day after the memorial service is held. ‘John from Langford’ Horgan was MLA for Malahat—Juan de Fuca for nearly 20 years, serving four consecutive terms from 2005 to 2023. He was elected B.C.’s 36th premier in 2017 and served until 2022, when he stepped down following a second bout of cancer. In 2023 he was named Canada’s official ambassador to Germany, a role he held for about six months before having to step away to focus on his health. Following his death, tributes rolled in for the former premier from all sides of the political spectrum, and as far as the prime minister’s office. “John embodied kindness and courage. He was a fighter. He will be celebrated for his leadership and the progress he made on so many important issues,” said Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at the time . “Above all, we will remember how John made us feel. His warmth. His positivity. His ability to connect with people irrespective of their politics or beliefs. John leaves behind a profound legacy that will inspire us for generations to come.” Meanwhile, a grassroots effort was also started in Langford, where community members pitched naming a new post-secondary campus that’s currently under construction on Goldstream Avenue “ John Horgan University Campus .” R EAD MORE: Tributes continue to pour in for B.C. former Premier John HorganBayern Munich ’s Frans Krätzig has experienced an incredible rise. His was an incredible ascension from a squad player for Bayern’s U-23 side in the Regionalliga Bayern for the first half of the 2022/23 season, to breaking into the Bayern first team, to becoming an undroppable mainstay for Austria Wien in the latter half of the 2023/24 season. But all good things come to an end. Following a second loan to VfB Stuttgart, Krätzig has floundered. Though the U-20 Germany international was likely never going to beat out arguably the senior Germany side’s best left-back in Maximilian Mittelstädt, there was the belief that Die Schwäben’s increased workload following qualification to the Champions League would give Krätzig enough game time. Such a notion was fully squashed, however, when Stuttgart’s squad for the third round of the DFB-Pokal was announced. Though Krätzig had played in both of the previous rounds, he was not even in the squad to face 2. Bundesliga opposition SC Preußen Münster as Ramon Hendriks instead started at left. Therefore it is not surprising that, shortly after the match, @iMiaSanMia captured a report of Krätzig’s likely departure: Frans Krätzig could return to Bayern in January. The 21-year old left-back has only made one Bundesliga appearance for Stuttgart, so his loan move could be cut short. It is a shame to see such a meteoric rise hit such a massive bump, but it is not the first time Krätzig has come up against adversity. There is a reason, after all, that he was relegated to a squad player at Bayern’s U-23s in the first place. Therefore, despite the setback, there is every chance Krätzig bounces back with style. After all, it would not be the first time he has done so. Looking for more thoughts and analysis on Bayern Munich’s shocking 1-0 loss to Bayer Leverkusen in the DFB-Pokal? While Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was playing the "Monday Night Football" game against the Dallas Cowboys in Texas, his Anderson Township, Ohio, home was broken into, officials said Tuesday. The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office confirmed to ABC News that Burrow's house was burglarized shortly after 8 p.m. local time. One of Burrow's employees told deputies on the scene that when she arrived at his home she found a bedroom window broken and the room ransacked. Deputies cleared the house and the employee was able to give a general list of what was missing, according to officials. An investigation into the incident is ongoing and deputies have been in contact with Burrow's neighbors to see if any security footage was obtained of the burglary. The break-in at Burrow's Cincinnati residence follows a spate of incidents at fellow prominent NFL players' homes. However, a sheriff's department spokesperson said, at this time, there is no indication that this attempted robbery was part of the larger string of athlete robberies. Last month, the NFL issued a security alert to teams' security directors and the players' union warning of "organized and skilled criminals" that are increasingly targeting the homes of professional athletes. The NFL and other professional sports leagues received a briefing from the FBI, a source told ABC News at the time. The homes of Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce were burglarized on consecutive days in October in the Kansas City area, according to the NFL memo. Additionally, the Minnesota home of former Vikings defensive tackle Linval Joseph, who now plays for the Dallas Cowboys, was targeted in a burglary in November, the NFL said. Law enforcement officials noted these groups target the homes on days the athletes have games. Players were told to take precautions and implement home security measures to reduce the risk of being targeted. Some of the burglary groups have conducted extensive surveillance on targets, including attempted home deliveries and posing as grounds maintenance or joggers in the neighborhood. Burglars have entered through side doors, via balconies or through second-floor windows. They've targeted homes in secluded areas and focused on master bedrooms and closet areas. Players were warned to avoid updating any social media with check-ins or daily activities until the end of the day and discouraged from posting expensive items on social media. ABC News' Jack Date and Darren Reynolds contributed to this report.

Keurig Dr Pepper Declares Quarterly DividendPerspective: Taxes — by another nameEarlier this year, PYMNTS Intelligence found that only a minority of workers surveyed — at 20% — said that it was “very or extremely” likely that they’d switch jobs in the next year. At the same time, we noted that 83% of consumers eyed 2024 with concerns about the economy. Only 38% of consumers said they’d expected a real increase in their wages. As 2024 moves toward the history books, there are some indications that sentiment may lift, where a more sanguine outlook about employment spurs a more upbeat outlook about other factors of life — including, perhaps, spending. There are some indications in the latest round of jobs-related data — through what’s known as the JOLT report (short for Job Openings and Labor Turnover) — that workers are ready to make the leap, and many are already doing so, as job openings outpace hiring. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Tuesday (Dec. 3) that available jobs increased, as measured in October, while hiring slowed. Wall Street may be gaming the chances of another Federal Reserve cut to interest rates this month (as the headline numbers suggest a slowing labor market). Two data points stand out here: Workers are quitting at a relatively heady pace, which speaks a bit to the confidence, and layoffs are trending lower; the separation of workers from jobs is voluntary. By the numbers, job openings totaled 7.74 million on the month , up 372,000 from September. Consensus forecasts had been that openings would stand at 7.5 million. Openings as a share of the labor force rose to 4.6% from 4.4%. During a month wracked with hurricanes and labor strikes, total hires of 5.3 million were down by 269,000 roles month over month. Though the October data represent boost in job openings, we’re well below last year’s level, by 11%, seen in October of last year. Where the Jobs Are The professional and business services sector stood out with the largest increase in job openings, adding 209,000 positions in October, while information followed with 87,000 additional openings. Leisure and hospitality also demonstrated strength, particularly in accommodation and food services, which saw a 6.7% job opening rate, the highest among all industries. Small businesses continue to drive the labor market, accounting for 80% of October’s job openings. These establishments, however, also led in separations, laying off nearly 1.2 million employees, representing 76% of all separations. But we note that small businesses made significant progress, reducing layoffs by 56% compared to October 2023, which gives the nod to some stabilization on Main Street. In October, 3.4 million individuals quit their jobs, bouncing from a low in September not seen in four years. Connecting the dots, there are a few glimmers of what might lie ahead. Last week, we reported that consumer confidence ticked up in November, where the Conference Board reported that one-third of respondents said jobs were plentiful, down from the 34.1% seen in October. At the same time, the percentage of respondents saying jobs were “hard to get” fell too, to 15.2 from 17.6%. If individuals and households are eyeing a career switch, it may be to get some additional padding in their wallets — in terms of spendable wages, which comes with higher income. PYMNTS reported in the wake of the most recent GDP report that disposable income growth has been pressured, with current-dollar disposable personal income up only 2.3%, and adjusted real growth at 0.8%. Personal saving was $934.4 billion in the third quarter, “a downward revision in change of $34 billion from the previous estimate,” per the data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis. The personal saving rate — personal saving as a percentage of disposable personal income — was 4.3% in the third quarter, a downward revision of 0.5%.
